Aham, provavelmente sim...

Mas e ela?

Ai ai... meu poder de Mãe Dinah é algo de ridículo... média de 69% de acertos. As únicas duas categorias que previ certo todos os indicados foi ator coadjuvante e roteiro original (também, barbadas!). A que mais errei foi canção e mixagem de som (2/5), mas também quem imaginaria três canções de Encantada?


* Pobre Sean Penn. Tudo bem que a inclusão de Into the Wild para melhor filme não era a coisa mais certa do mundo... mas receber duas míseras indicações foi um choque! Nem fotografia? Nem Eddie Vedder? Só vendo o filme e tirando a prova...

* Enfim, PTA! Será que a tua vez?

* Nunca é demais ver uma das atrizes favoritas com indicação dupla né? Obviamente as chances de Cate Blanchett são muito maiores com I’m Not There (até então a favorita), mas em retrospecto, a história não é tão favorável pra ela. Aconteceu apenas cinco vezes nos últimos 25 anos, e funcionou duas: em 1982, com Jessica Lange (ganhou de atriz coadjuvante por Tootsie, e concorreu como atriz por Frances) e em 1993, com Holly Hunter (ganhou de atriz por O Piano e concorreu como coadjuvante por A Firma). As que não deram sorte foram Sigourney Weaver, em 1988 (Na Montanha dos Gorilas/Uma Secretária de Futuro), Emma Thompson, em 1993 (Vestígios do Dia/Em Nome do Pai) e Julianne Moore, em 2003 (Longe do Paraíso/As Horas).

* 40% dos concorrentes a melhor roteiro são mulheres: Nancy Oliver (Lars and the Real Girl), Tamara Jenkins (The Savages), Sarah Polley (Away from Her) e Diablo Cody (Juno), esta a favorita a roteiro original.

* Tá Dando Onda? Pra quem? Pro Homer Simpson é que não é!

* Oito indicações ao Framboesa de Ouro num dia e, no outro, uma indicação para o Oscar! Uau, isso é que é pulo de qualidade né, Norbit?! Tá, tudo bem, o seis-vezes-oscarizado Rick Baker é fera mesmo...

* Todos os candidatos a melhor diretor são novatos na categoria! É... quer dizer, contando com a dupla de Coens indicada pela primeira vez, certo?

* Lição do dia: nunca subestime Alan Menken. Muito menos um musical da Disney! Três canções indicadas de Encantada... uau! Todas bem boas, por sinal.. Será que Amy Adams vai cantar no Oscar? Tomara!

* Cadê Beowulf e 300, os tão revolucionários épicos visuais do ano passado? Cadê Hairspray, alguns alardeando até com chances a melhor filme? Cadê American Gangster, comparado a O Poderoso Chefão e, desde cedo, um frontrunner? Como se vê, nada é tão fácil assim de se prever... nem pros chatos membros da Academia.

* Perder a vaga pra Andrzej Wajda (Katyn) até vai, mas pra um filme do Cazaquistão, filmado na Mongólia, sobre a juventude de Gengis Khan? Ah purfa! Essa categoria é nada menos que patética.

Previsões finais OSCAR 2008

A espera chega ao fim na manhã desta terça-feira. Na 80a edição do Oscar, dois dos meus diretores preferidos devem desfilar pelo tapete vermelho. Ou pelo menos é isso que todo mundo espera. Joel Coen (agora junto com o irmão Ethan também na direção) e Paul Thomas Anderson devem concorrer como diretor e seus filmes a melhor do ano de 2007. E o otimismo aqui é grande: o chute é em sete indicações pra No Country For Old Men e There Will Be Blood!
O maior crédito, porém, é para Into the Wild que, a meu ver, lideraria o número de indicações do ano: 9 ao todo, praticamente todas nas categorias principais. Sinceramente, tenho minhas dúvidas se o filme megamericano de Sean Penn chegará a tanto, mas...
Por outro lado, tô apostando pouco em American Gangster, Juno e Sweeney Todd, que figuram bem em listas de muita gente. Mas, como o que há de bom nisso tudo são as surpresas (boas ou, na maioria das vezes, ruins), ainda é bem difícil dizer quem tá certo ou não.
Desde que não seja, claro, tirar O Ano Em Que Meus Pais Saíram de Férias dos cinco filmes estrangeiros né? Olha, sinceramente, acho que o Brasil nunca teve tanta chance de levar o ouro, sabe? Dos nove pré-finalistas, hoje anda se falando apenas no austríaco The Counterfeiters (sobre guerra, campo de concentração e aquela coisa de sempre). De resto, nada parece muito empolgante (acabo de ver o italiano La Sconosciuta e me parece obscuro demais para ganhar). Tudo depende de uma boa companhia nesse mês de intervalo até a cerimônia. Faz favor né seu Hamburguer?

Oscar Predix - Round 4

Penúltima rodada de previsões para os indicados ao Oscar 2008. Algumas coisas (boas e ruins) mudaram desde o mês passado. De um lado, a confirmação do favoritismo de No Country For Old Men (que tá fazendo uma limpa geral nos prêmios por aí) e também a ressurreição de There Will Be Blood (que parece que não vai ser ignorado afinal!). E de outro, o repentino desdém de Atonement, completamente ignorado por sindicatos de peso como dos atores (SAG), roteiristas (WGA) e diretores (DGA) – lá no início chegou a ser até o favorito, hoje quase caindo da lista dos cinco finalistas nas principais categorias.
PS: Antes de dar o veredicto final, falta ainda conhecer os vencedores Globo de Ouro (no dia 13 – nenhum comentário extra sobre o cancelamento da cerimônia: simplesmente a maior palhaçada de Hollywood dos últimos tempos – , os indicados ao Producers Guild of America (dia 14) e ao Bafta (dia 16). Aí, e só esperar as 11h38min do dia 22 (ou será que vão suspender o anúncio também? Haja!)
